MEETING OF THE SHIA CLERGIES WITH THE CONSUL GENERAL

            On Wednesday, 16^th December 2009 a delegation of the Shia community and Shia Ulemas met with the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai H. E. Mr. Ali Mohammadi and reiterated their support to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyed Ali Hosseini al-Khamenei and condemned the imperialistic conspiracy against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

            H. E. Mr. Ali Moahmmadi welcomed their move and also briefly explained them the present political situation.

            The above delegation also presented a 2-page Memorandum and requested the Consul General to forward the same to the Supreme Leader. The memorandum emphasized the following:

            “The date of 16^th Azar of the Persian Calendar is observed as the Student’s Day against the Imperialism but an outside group in the name of support to the students movement inflicted the damage on the holy relics of Islam and also the revered image of the founder of the Islamic Revolution Hazrat Imam Khomeini (RA) and raised the objectionable slogans against the Islamic jurisprudence. Our delegation wish to convey that we are an awakened community and shall not allow the anti-Islamic forces to succeed in their ulterior motives and shall safeguard the traditions of the progeny of the Prophet Mohammad (SAW).

            We, the faithful ulemas and momeneens of Mumbai think it as our duty to reiterate our resolve to support and follow the teachings of the Supreme Leader and do whatever is possible to safeguard the Leadership and Islamic Jurisprudence and shall not shrink from our responsibility in this regard”.
