TCCIM delegation’s visit to Mumbai


A 50-member strong team of Iranian businessmen visited Mumbai under the auspices of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Mines (TCCIM). The delegation was headed by the President of TCCIM Mr. Yahya Ale-Es’hagh, ex-Commerce Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.


The delegation initially arrived in New Delhi and reached Mumbai on 8th May 2012. They were warmly received by the officials of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai and various programmes were charted out for them.


On Wednesday, 9th May 2012, All India Association of Industry (AIAI) jointly organized the business meeting with the World Trade Centre, Mumbai. Mrs. Rupa Naik, Executive Director of AIAI and Mr. Warerkar, Dy. Director of WTC elaborated on the importance of the trade relations between India and Iran.


Mr. Feroz Ardharjunia pointed out the potentials and progress of the two countries and said that the trade exchange is one of the important ways of developing the relations between the two countries.

His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Bagher Beigi, Acting Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai described the facts and figures of the trade and stressed upon the frequent exchanges of the business delegations to further the prospect of the even better trade relations between India and Iran.


B2B meetings followed the speeches by the dignitaries wherein businessmen of both the countries had the opportunity to explore the fields of the mutual interests.

Later in the day Federation of the Indian Exporters Organisation (FIEO) organized a meeting for their esteemed members at Hotel Four Seasons. A part of the delegation also visited Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for inspection of the factory in Powai.


On Thursday, 10th May 2012, the delegations members visited the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran to have the detailed discussion with the Acting Consul General who has hosted the Lunch in their honour.

In the afternoon at 14.00 hours Indo Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IACCI) organized a trade seminar at CCI.


The above meetings were attended by the large number of the Indian trade community which was an encouraging sign for the development of the economic and trade relations between the two ancient countries of India and Iran.


The delegated also had the fruitful discussion with the representatives of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and United Commercial Bank (UCO). Towards the end of their visit a working Dinner was hosted by the Hinduja Group of Companies at the Trident Hotel.


The delegation left Mumbai for Tehran on Friday, 11th May 2012 by Iran Air flight
